Described as the up-and-coming East Coast answer to SXSW, Northside is an annual one-week summer showcase festival celebrating emerging music (400 indie bands), film (50 art-house movies), ideas and entrepreneurship. Over 120,000 attendees are expected at this year’s festival on June 8-14 in Brooklyn neighborhood Williamsburg, home to a dynamic community of tastemakers.

Northside Innovation is the part of the festival that focuses on technology, entrepreneurship, content and design. Convening an eclectic mix of technologists, entrepreneurs, designers and content creators, as well as media people and investors, it tackles the most pressing issues in innovation.

Alex Lewerentz, co-founder and Head of Product at Cloapp says:

“This is a great opportunity for us to show our app Closr in America. Nordics by Northside was looking for exciting early-stage Swedish tech startups with cool B2C products, and I guess we fit right into that description. I can’t wait to get feedback from US investors and the New York tech community!„Alex Lewerentz, co-founder and Head of Product at Cloapp

Nordics by Northside (#NxNS15) is the official part of Northside Festival that gives ten Nordic startups, with Cloapp as one of the Swedish representatives, the chance to show their products and innovations in the Nordic Lounge Area in the Innovation Expo. There will also be a pitch event and a mingle event connected to the lounge (10-11 June).

Laurent Oster, Director of Commercial and Economic Affairs, Consulate General of Sweden says:

“As we’re living fast-paced lives with multiple social network services at our hand, Closr brings us the solution to a problem we all can relate to: personal relationship management. With their technical, design and corporate communication skills, we’re certain the Closr team is going to make a great impression at the Northside Festival in New York in June.„Laurent Oster, Director of Commercial and Economic Affairs, Consulate General of Sweden
